“During professional as well as recreational sports, there is an on-going continuous strain on the locomotor system, which over time leads to a series of small microscopical damages to cartilage and the surrounding connective tissue within the joint. This results in the accumulation of micro-injuries and disruption in the biomechanical balance, and thus in the occurence of a more significant injury caused by a seemingly harmless movement or trauma. Common examples are knee injuries, when the meniscus, patella and ligaments are often damaged in the manner described.”

From our experience, there is a large number of young people for whom recreational sports and physical training are an important part of their lives, but due to the appearing chronic joint and bone problems, they are unable to devote themselves to their passion with full enthusiasm. Most often, they are then faced with a very narrow choice of treatment options or the continuation of suffering pain, and at the same time, a small number of people who are at an earlier age and strength are prone to risky and expensive operations, which in a significant number of cases will not solve the cause of the problem. In such cases, it is ideal to apply treatment with therapeutic magnetic resonance in order to, by targeting the cause of the problem, try to recover the regenerative mechanism of the tissue and promote healing or regeneration, and with complementary physical rehabilitation of painful joints and kinesitherapy, give patients a second chance to enjoy playing sports and active living.

The use of MBST® therapy is particularly important in the preparation of athletes and the prevention of acute and chronic injuries, as it significantly reduces the risk of injury and prevents the later development of osteoarthritis, which is very common in former proffesional athletes and regular recreational players, runners, weightlifters etc. Namely, during a sports career, there are great stresses that lead to a series of small cartilage damages, which can lead to a cumulative effect resulting in injuries during competition, and quite often in the case of minor trauma or normal movements. For this reason, in a preventive sense, it is advisable, especially for those joints that suffer the greatest loads as knees and the lumbo-sacral spine, to regularly carry out a cycle of MBST® (therapeutic magnetic resonance therapy) on an annual basis, in order to repair the accumulated damage of microlesions and tearing in cartilage and ligament tissues.
